four highways to Tibet that is open to traffic all over the year.

Arrival in Xining |

from another city to Xining, Xining local guide
meet you at Xining airport and transfer to hotel
in Xining.
Xining is the capital city of Qinghai province,
mainly inhabited with Tibetan but also a home of
Uygur, Kazak and Hui ethnic groups.

02: Xining –Koko Nor Lake(210km) |

Set
out in the morning. Drive cross over the Sun and
Mojon Mountain (Ri Yue Shan), where a sun-pavilion
and a moon pavilion built on the summit for people
to have a break. Then reach the Koko Nor Lake(Qinghai
hu), the biggest salty lake in China with an area
of 4500 sq kilometers and an altitude of 3194m.
Take a short trekking by the lake, enjoy the extraodinarily
fascinating scenery here. Stay in a tent hotel.

03: Koko Nor Lake – Dulan (320km) |

After
a simple breakfast, drive ahead to Dulan along the
Koko Nor Lake, watch the bird island in the lake,
after approx 200km, arriving at Tsaka salty lake,
make a stopover here, then arrive in Dulan in the
late afternoon.

04: Dulan – Golmud (301km) |

Drive through Tsaidam Basin,
the road to Golmud is just along the foot of the
mountais. On the way, you can see many oasis dotted
in the desert, after saying goodbye to the last
oasis in the desert-Xiangride oasis, arriving
in Golmud in the late afternoon, where Tibetan
and Han culture melt each other.

05: Golmud – Tuotuoheyan (410km) |

Today drive on
the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau along the road in the
foot of Mt. Kunlun, go on upwards to cross over
4837m high Kunlun Pass, then pass by the First Bridge
of Yangtze River, arriving Tuotuoheyan, which is
lain in the head stream of the Yangtse.

06: Tuotuoheyan – Naqu (430km) |

Drive cross over
Mt. Tanggula, en route, you can see the eagles,
flocks and herds, yaks, snow mountains, tents of

a harmonious landscape, everything seems so relaxing
here.

07: Naqu-Namtso Lake –Lhasa (480km) |

Grassland for Namtso, cross 5150m high Lhachen La
Pass and reach Namtso Lake, which is of an altitude
of 4700m. Take photographs, in the late afternoon
arrive in Lhasa(3650m). Stay in Lhasa.

08: Lhasa city tour |

After breakfast,
drive out for a leisure city tour today. Visit the
Potala, which is now served as the winter residence
of Dalai Lamas and the religious-political nexus
of traditional Tibet. The crowds of pilgrims, buddhist
statues, monasteries, rare treasures all together
creat a dense religious atmosphere. Then go to the
famous market, Barkhor street, pick up some local
specials or else.
