Wolong Nature Reserve & Bi Feng Xia Panda Base |
Obviously Wolong Panda is well-known all over the world.
Before the 5.12 Earthquake:
It's not only one of the last strongholds of the giant panda, but also conducts crucial research on panda breeding and bamboo ecology. Here you can take photos with the panda and should pay for it, work as a volunteer, etc. Well in fact, pandas here are more lovely than those in Chengdu Panda Base. Normally, it takes 3-4 hours to drive from Chengdu to Wolong Natural Reserve and it's often arranged in the itinerary from Chengdu to Mt. Four Girls.
After the 5.12 Earthquake:
Pandas are transfered to Bi Feng Xia scenic area, which is in Ya'an city, about two hours drive from Chengdu city. A good summer place for Chengduese.
